Apparently yes! So says a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
60,000 Swedish women aged between 38 and 76 were involved in this US study. The results showed that drinking greater than 2 glasses of milk per day seriously increased the risk of the most serious form of ovarian cancer.
Another viewpoint on ovarian cancer comes from Dr Christiane Northrup. Dr Northrup, known for her book, Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom looks at the emotional and energetic associations of disease. She cites “the energy of unexpressed rage or resentment, encoded in the second chakra area of the body” as being possibly associated with ovarian cancer.
Of course, I think it is difficult to generalise about what cellular memory we each hold in our bodies. Or what energies are ’stuck’ somewhere. For some women this may be true. For others, it may indicate other feelings, memories or areas of learning.
I do think her approach has merit, in terms of looking at our bodies as more than just cells and blood vessels. If you’re interested in exploring this level of relating to your body, I highly recommend these meditation and energetic healing techniques.
Cancer is not a subject anyone has any defintive answers for, that work with everyone. But we can keep our bodies as healthy as possible. Regular inner cleansing is like keeping a clean house. It certainly makes living in your body so much nicer!
